New Geek On The Block

Hello! Welcome to the wonderful world of digital marketing! Where the days go fast, and high open and click rates call for celebratory drinks. So, you’re either reading this blog because your a) a digital marketer yourself, b) a business owner trying to figure out if digital is the way to go for your company (the answer is yes, btw), or c) my mom and I made you read this. At any rate, you’re wondering how does Actionable Insights run so many successful digital marketing campaigns? Well, there’s a few things to keep in mind, but the most important, and often overlooked aspect is the technology that we utilize.

Technology

One of the most important aspects of a digital strategy is to have the best possible software. Not only will your daily workflow be smoother with the proper software, but your analytics will be more accurate and precise, which in turn, will immensely help your campaign to be as successful as possible. Good technology should be user friendly, provide you with many different options to deploy emails (whether it be conquest or automated), and you should be able to pull reliable, accurate reports.

| If you don’t have software that gives you accurate reports, then you’re wasting your own time, and you’re wasting your clients’ time.

Communication

There are so many different communication channels that we use throughout a day. I am constantly going back and forth between different softwares scheduling organic social media posts, creating Facebook dark post campaigns, developing subject lines, and segmenting data, and the list could go on and on. All of these aspects of my job, while they serve different purposes during a digital campaign, they still have one thing in common: technology. Without the best technology, I would not be able to complete my job. It’s that important.

Analytics

Yes, we all known analytics are important, but if you don’t have software that gives you accurate reports, then you’re wasting your own time, and you’re wasting your clients’ time. Analytics tell the story of your campaign. They let you know what works and what doesn’t work. They allow you to learn more about your audience, and build a foundation for your client that will lead to the ultimate goal: conversions.

Conclusion

So, technology. Yeah, it’s pretty important to the success of your campaign. You can have a great strategy on paper, but until you start working with the technology and reading accurate reports will you truly know the success of your campaign. My advice? Do your research. There’s a lot of great software out there, and there’s a lot of bad software out there. Compare all of your options. Utilize trial runs if you’re able to and monitor the analytics and reporting. Oh, and hire a kickass digital strategist. That’ll help, too.
